Lovely views, so nice that all rooms had balconies. Amazing gym and pool area. Comfortable beds. Nice neutral decor.

Awful check in process. Reception area is insanely busy and chaotic during check in and check out, have to wait ages, bags everywhere. Extremely disorganised. Reception staff helpful and friendly but staff at rooftop pool bar are rude and you get the vibe that they really dont want to be there. The hotel pre-authorises a $200 incidental charge per night, even though there's no where to spend your money there. No restaurant available. Some rooms had minibars and some didnt, no idea why! At busy times it takes forever to get an elevator. Long wait to get car from valet.

Although the room was nice, it smelled and had very little natural light. Disappointing for a suite!

No onsite parking, it was a generous block away. There's a loading zone (depending on the time of your arrival and which direction you're coming in you'll have to turn around and double back to parallel park at a busy intersection) where you can unload you luggage and carry to your room. Then youll have to to drive a block to park (i was glad our vehicle was small) and make the trek back. The mattress was extra firm, very much like sleeping on the floor - the couch (as a couch, not sleeper) was more comfortable. The entrance to the lobby was awkward at best and unwelcoming at worst: there is a keypad that requires a security code (which I 100% understand), what I don't get is when 4 employees are sitting in the lobby watching you struggle with the keypad when they all literally acknowledged us as guests 15 minutes prior. I am not exaggerating when I say this happened every single time - I did not feel welcome at all and especially every time I fought with the key pad while they all just stared at me. Also, you need a white noise machine at night (they provide one, but no cord, you'll have to go to lobby for batteries instead) and some of the blinds in the room do not work. I've never been so exhausted on a trip intended to relax from work and kids. Also, the lighting is terrible in the bathroom - impossible to see what your doing with makeup, etc. A vanity mirror with light is provided but just makes it worse - if you happen to stay here you'll understand what I'm talking about.

The individual(older male, long hair) at the check-in counter engaged in a subtle form of racism through microaggressions. I told the man that I had completed the check in formalities online while taking out my ID card and that when he asked me where I was from. I told him I live in San Fransisco. To that he said "where are you really from ?" And when I said India he said the following things: "Oh I figured you were from India !" "Indians always keep their IDs close to their chest ! Why is that ? Is it a thing in India ?" "Don't people in India ask you for ID card when you check in somewhere ?" I know the difference between being inquisitive and microaggressions and this definitely was a microaggression. All I was trying to tell him that I have completed the check in formalities online as well. I know I need to present my ID card at the hotel, why would he assume that I would not want to show it. I was really thrown by this experience and was by far the worst check in experience. It was not a great experience when after I drove 4 hours in the evening to get to Tahoe to have a nice weekend with my family.

When I arrived the pool was open. We went and purchased swim wear and came back and it was closed. It was 5 pm. There was kids running down the hall way at 10 pm screaming and throwing stuff.

It wasn’t clean. The bed didn’t have a blanket when we arrived and we had to go ask for one. The front desk person did not want to give us anything. When we tried to come check in we had to wait for someone to come unlock the front door but they gave so much attitude about us coming in. They didn’t have any towels in the room. I booked a king bed and was given a full size.
