We only had half a day in Christchurch (arrived at night, then flew out at 5pm next day) but even that was too much time to spend here! I wouldn't want to come back again. There wasn't anything interesting to see or do, apart from the "Quake City" exhibit which was good. Walked thru the botanic gardens and around the "city centre" but it was pretty much a ghost town, with hardly any people or tourists around and not really any good shops. We kept Googling for things to do, but ended up just sitting in the cafe at a Mitre 10 hardware store to fill in time til we had to go to the airport. I guess this city is more of a base for flying into (more flights than Queenstown) and for exploring further away sites.

Enjoyed the Gondola and the International Antarctic Centre but little time to do much else. Hated the traffic as we arrived around peak hour but also found the speed zones very slow compared to other cities.

A very pleasant city with delightful walks along the river Avon with excellent shops and restaurants. The only negative point was that there seemed to be only one ATM in the city so cards are essential!

If I had to skip 2 destinations on a long trip to NZ they would be Wellington and Cristchurch. Not a lot going on in either for a foreign traveller but at least Christchurch had good food options and a better climate.

Great city, there is still a lot of work going on around the city following the 2011 earthquake but the work completed so far looks fantastic. Oxford terrace is a beautiful place to sit and have a drink and something to eat. Dimitris Souvlaki is superb. Paddy McNaughtons and The Church are great places for a beer or 3.
Loved my stay there, hope to be back soon.

A very vibrant city with lots of retail, restaurants and plenty of outdoor activities. We zip lined at the Christchurch Adventure Park and it was awesome. A great place to visit if you love the outdoors. Autumn colours are amazing.
Very friendly owner/operators and it was a very good space. I had a rental car so it was relatively quick to the motorway to get around. I would regulary walk to the Hornby Mall next to the park for coffee and there is a supermarket there to get supplies. Very handy. The rooms are clean and functional. The bed was comfy. Overall a good stay and better than most motels in Christchurch I am sure.
Friends who had previously stayed at the hotel strongly recommended that we do the same. They were correct. The hotel, which was a government building, is located in the center of Christchurch. The room was outstanding - 2 floors with all amenities. There is a wonderful pub in the main lobby area, not officially part of the hotel, that was excellent. We would go there again.
It is a beautiful location, close to the botanical Gardens and the Hagley Gardens.
They held my baggage after checkout, so I was free to enjoy Christchurch for a few more hours without being encumbered by my suitcase.
Close to public transport to the airport.
The number 3 bus is just a 5 mins walk near the corner of Riccarton and Bartlett Streets / Thai Orchard restaurant.
Hotel is very close to the centre of Christchurch and across the street from Great Regent Street. Lots of eateries closeby and a short walk across Cathedral Square to the Avon River and the bars and eateries located along the River. The room was spotlessly clean and modern. Good sized bathroom with lovely toiletries. We had views towards the town from the 10th floor.
location of hotel was great - just short walk down Colombo Street and you are in the centre of Christchurch. rooms are a good size and very comfortable - great shower. it was also easy to get a local bus from the airport to the hotel.
staff very helpful at booking taxis for transfers bak to airport ( too early for the bus) and also the station for the transalpine train
This was an excellent hotel right next to the airport terminal, car rentals and bus stops so could not have been handier. The rooms and facilities were also excellent and we had a very comfortable stay the night before our flight out of Christchurch. The Antarctic Centre and some shops/restaurants are nearby (walkable) and it is easy to get a bus from/to Christchurch.
Perfect blend of antique furnishings and modern comforts. Fantastic friendly service, it felt more like a "home" than a hotel. Lovely breakfast every morning. Great location, within walking distance to the CBD, museums, galleries, eateries and the tram runs right outside. Highly recommend, will definitely book again next time we are in Christchurch. 10/10.
Everything it was wonderful. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The room was so big and roomy. We had to stay longer as we didn't want to leave. Spa bath was small but great to have after a hard day of exploring Christchurch. Both the restaurants on the ground floor had nice food.
The Hotel is within walking distance to the Riccarton Mall.
I love this hotel! This was our 2nd stay and it’s my go to hotel in Christchurch because of it amazing location, dwntwn across from the gardens and museum. The 2 bedroom apartments are very spacious, modern, comfortable, quiet and have great views. It’s excellent value for money and there’s a cafe below and a coffee truck outside.
The shuttle from the airport was quick to arrive and front desk staff were excellent. Food in the restaurant was excellent but the staff didn’t engage much except our waitress in the evening. Thinking of changing our hotel reservation to this hotel when we return from our trip around the island.
The location of this property is very central to all most activities in Christchurch. We walked everywhere that we needed to during our stay. The tram runs next to the hotel if you need to go further. And bonus , our rental car pick up from Apex 500m away. Couldn’t be happier with location.
Great bedrooms, with large comfortable beds. Ensuite for each room was great for two couples. Very short walk across the road to the beach, and to various cafes. Easy access to Christchurch CBD and airport, with the bus stop just down the road.
It is located centrally in the Christchuch CBD, close to every attractions within the city such as the Riverside Market Place, Botanical Garden etc. Also, it is the biggest hotel in the Christchurch CBD. Highly recommended!
Extremely convenient hotel next to the airport. Clean, comfortable with a good restaurant, Excellent views across the tarmac and city, have stayed there numerous times and would do so again.
Friendly husband/wife owners; prompt pick-up at the airport. Love how all New Zealand hotels and B&B’s give you a complimentary small bottle/carton of milk. 😊
near airport within walking distance, cheaper solution other than Novotel.
the Staff is super helpful on our request..
Kitchen & Washroom is big & clean.
This is the best value for money hotel .IT is so central and adds to Christchurch as one of the easist citys to get around . Cleanliness is excellent .
