I wish this place would continue to be our little secret.
I wish this place would continue to be our little secret. It is small, quiet and a little bit more private that the other places we visited over the past 30 years. It is out of the way, which makes it more appealing to us.

We've taken three trips to Holbox and plan to go again next year because each trip has been better than the last. The people are so nice and friendly and accommodating. The places we've stayed have all been perfect for our group. The laid back, barefoot vibe really works for us. We've taken the 3 Island tour three times and fully enjoyed it each time. Taxis are readily available, and you can find something to eat by just wandering around town into any restaurant that appeals to you. The beaches are beautiful and the weather has been perfect when we've visited - hot but not humid. The island feels very safe. We will definitely keep going back.

The island has beautiful beaches with white and soft sand.
The island has beautiful beaches with white and soft sand. Island is pretty small and easy to get around but taxi rides are not cheap - on avg 150 pesos even for a 5min ride. You can rent a golf car or bicycles or simply walk. You can easily get around town by walking even if you stay abit off the town area but not if you stay at Punta Coco. Lighting is minimal with some potholes, making walking a tad bit dangerous at night. Activities on the island are quite minimal and the same is offered from one vendor to another. We went for the bioluminescence tour which was ok but is unlike what is shown in the photos. We then went island hopping the next day which we felt was a waste of money bcos there's really nothing much to see and not only did you have to pay for the tour, we also had to pay for the conservation, entrance fee to the island that had a cenote which were added cost and we weren't informed until we got there. As for food, I wouldn't recommend Roots Pizza, the lobster pizza was over priced for a measly portion of lobster meat. Had the 4 cheese pizza and you can tell cheap cheese was used. I do recommend La Casa de Nana for the food - great chef! As for drinks, highly recommend AMA Japanese restaurant for their mixology cocktails - super yums!

Holbox Island is a little piece of paradise, we loved it and would highly recommend it. If you want some beach time while in Mexico and don't like the noise and chaos of playa and Cancun(we didn't like Playa) then Holbox is the place.
Beautiful beaches, lovely restaurants water activities, great holiday.
You can walk around the island or get taxis. Taxi cost about 150 peso depending on where you are staying..
There are shops to buy food and drinks if you are self catering.

Such a beautiful unique place - so nice to be somewhere with no cars and where you can cycle around! Such yum food and beautiful beaches. Loved it here and its fast become one of my favourite places in the world.
I strongly recommend Soho boutique Hotel. Originally we booked 2 nights at the Hotel, but we liked the place so much, that we decided to stay for 2 more nights. The staff was very helpful with whatever we needed. The location is great - 15 minutes walking from the crowded center. For us it meant that we could spend lazy days in a very calm surrounding and easily walk to the center in the evening for a dinner or a party. Great facilities - the hotel has its own sunbeds on the beach where we'd spend our days.
Everything was wonderful! We really enjoyed the large, clean room with very a comfortable bed, the pools, breakfast and rooftop bar/restaurant. We also took advantage of the massage facilities which was a great experience. The hotel is located on the less touristy part of the island which we preferred, even if it's further away from the town. The beach is wilder and only a 5 min walk away from the hotel. The staff was very helpful and always available for any questions of recommendations.
it is a very well kept, small, boutique hotel. No luxury frills but the rooms are very lovely, modern, and clean. Staff is attentive and pleasant. Price for accommodations are good. It was perfect for what we were looking for. Also, the beach location is gorgeous and relaxing - one of the prettiest from the row of hotels in the area and you can't beat $3USD beers while sitting out on the beach reading or relaxing. Would recommend this boutique hotel with the caveats below.
Holbox Island was a stunnig place and Bliss apartments was a perfect spot to reach all the activities available on the island. The owner gave us a big help planning snorkling and more activies with local agencies which was super nice. The structure was really clean and cozy. Kitchen well furnished. The beach is 5 min walking. The house was even better than it looked on pics. Really reccomended!
This hotel was perfect for what we were looking for. On the quieter part of the island, walkable to the town, nicely equipped rooms, very friendly and helpful staff, beautiful beach and a nice gym too! We even had a little espresso machine in our rooms and purified water accessible in all of the common areas. The wifi was very good so we were able to work when we needed to.
Nice hotel, excellent friendly, helpful staff. Very clean and functional. Nice pools, good breakfast. Quiet (in an increasingly noisy island). We've been coming to Holbox for 16 years and have experienced its decline from 'undiscovered paradise' to a noisy, crowded, over-developed, messy disappointment - Para Ti, however, is a welcome oasis, one of a few that remain.
The hotel has this summer-beach vibe without turning ir into an all inclusive. I think the price is amazing for what you get. Two block away from downtown, literally 2 min walk to the beach and to downtown. The pool is nice and it has spots to work, read, etc. The room has two dinning sets so I had some meals in my balcony. Truly amazing!
Isla Holbox is a must-do and this hotel was perfect to make the most of it ! Pancho is a great host and really communicates that unique chill island vibe you find in Holbox. The hotel is comfortable and has a well working internet wi-fi connection (particularly useful as there is no data in the island)
genuinely one of my favourite hotels I’ve ever stayed at. clearly one of the best on the island. the rooms were beautiful, the staff super attentive, the food was great. having private access to the nicest part of the beach is a huge plus too. would 100% recommend to anyone staying on Holbox Island.
Amazing hotel with super location (near to beach and close to centro not far to ferry port). Room had view to sea, and was clean and nice. Staff very helpful and friendly and with big knowleage about Holbox Island. Amazing breakfast. All in the good price.
Everything was fabulous. Our brilliant hostess Sandra and her staff looked after us beautifully. We were so lucky to find Casa Tom Tom, we stayed in 3 separate hotels on the island due to late booking and this was head and shoulders above the rest.
The room was small but nice, clean. The hotel itself is pretty, but its location is in a pretty undeveloped part of the island, so our balcony overlooked a swamp-cum-trash dump and it was hard to get to the hotel with the recent flooding.
The only thing that resembled to the boutique hotel name was the garden, rest of it was very blank and lacked the coziness what is the signature for the boutique hotels.
The hotel is smack on the beach. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. The island is great, but massively more crowded than it was a few years ago.
