I think 4-5 days is probably about right. We loved the history, the architecture, the public transport system and ferries which made it easy to get about. Beware the ferries are often disrupted if there are high winds which is fairly frequently in April. Don't miss the co - cathedral, the 4pm battery salute, the Lasaris war rooms, Cafe Cordina. There is a great view from the M&S Cafe on the 4th Floor in Sliema. The people are friendly and helpful. I felt very safe.ShelaghUnited Kingdom - 10Scored 10

I liked Valletta: It has a lot of interesting historical points, its own style of architecture and was full of character. The place is relatively small and therefore accessible to a fit person. There are streets which are made up of steps. The city has many excellent bars and restaurants as well as small grocery shops. It also has a couple of theatres. The city is clean and safe. There is a very good public bus service connecting the city with the rest of the island.

What a magical city!
What a magical city! So much history and worth exploring around the Island to see the different influences. We left wanting more and are already planning our next trip. The local wine was a lovely suprise - we absolutely could not get enough of it! And the quality of food that we tried was exceptional. I don't know why I sound so surprised but I really genuinely came away from our weekend away thinking it was one of the best mini-vacations we have had. Not to mention how darned friendly the locals are.

And when I needed my sheets changed unexpectedly they came right up and did it. I didn't see very much of Valletta but I stayed here welcoming and beautiful hotel room. I also want to say that the included breakfast was spectacular whether you were American or European or looking for full English. All those options were available

The Osborne Hotel is located in the town centre of the city of Valletta but you will not notice, how busy Valletta during the summertime is as the location of the hotel is a little outside of the inner city. Nice and quite place to relax after visiting all the beautiful places around Malta.
