Castlecourt Hotel, Spa & Leisure, hotel in Westport

The family owned 4-star Castlecourt Hotel is located in the heart of Westport. It offers live music and dancing every night, a 20-metre indoor pool, gym and spa and beautifully decorated rooms.

Location was good, initial impressions positive, reception staff excellent, breakfast was good but service slow and there was a Q in the morning, to be seated, when it eventually arrived we had to eat it too quickly ( so no enjoyment) as we did not want to miss our tour of Westport House, this tourist attraction highly recommended.

I liked the live music in the bars, the choice of restaurants and the interesting shops. I got some lovely birthday presents while l was rambling round the town. Westport House and grounds are lovely, although the House is closed for renovations temporarily. Westport is a good base also for other interesting places in Mayo. All in all, good in any season.

Easy walk to westport house and grounds and situated in an excellent position on the coast close to beaches, mountains, the greenway path and the wild atlantic way. Westport is a small town but has everything traveller could wish for. Loads of great bars and restaurants. Independent shops abound. There s s lovely atmosphere at this time of year. The locals are very friendly and it is a pleasure to visit. Close to the town are wonderful beaches and the village of Louisburgh nearby is also well worth a stop. Finally Westport is about an hour's scenic drive from magical Achill Island.

Westport is a charming picturesque bustling Irish town situated in the West of Ireland and central to Connemara and Atlantic Way. High quality pups and eateries with traditional Irish flair, great for foodies and coffee shop lovers alike. Traditional Irish pubs with Irish music overlook the town square and the old bridge which crosses the river where fly fishermen cast their rods. The local people are friendly and welcoming.

Lack of entrtainment meant we had to travel into Wesport centre each night. As a result we booked in for a 4th night into a hotel in Wesport centre, Wesport, very compact town, great shops, restaurants and bars. Brilliant location for sightseeing in and around the area. Need to be careful driving in the centre as new type crossings are not clearly marked and many visitors wouldnt realise they were pedistrian crossings. Croak Patrick, Knock, Leanne -The Field and Kilgarry river cruise were great visits.

After checking in , we were brought to a small king bedded room that had no operating window. No thank you! Nor for theee days! .... I called the front desk. They quickly moved us to #210, a big room over the front entry with a sitting area and opening windows. I would stay in this room again. Great service. Great breakfast, stuffing and gravy turkey ham sandwiches. Beautiful place, great hotel

The hotel was in a great location away from the busy and touristy town center. The cafe/bar/restaurant area and service were pleasant. The main drawbacks were that the toilets did not flush well and the third-floor room we had was hot/stuffy, and the windows would only open about an inch--for safety reasons, yes, but it was uncomfortable to try tp sleep.
