The most popular Wales seaside resort, Llandudno covers a peninsula with 2 sandy coastlines. The North Shore’s wide Victorian promenade is lined with period buildings which now house seafront hotels and guest houses. The beach itself stretches all the way between the Little Orme and Great Orme headlands, passing an outdoor swimming pool.
A historic tram climbs to the peak of Great Orme, where Bronze Age copper mines can be visited. The top is also reachable by cable car from Happy Valley, a recreation area with gardens and an artificial ski slope.
A road runs around the base of the headland passing the historic Grand Hotel, a property available on Booking.com and overlooking the Grade II-listed pier – the longest in Wales. The West Shore is much less developed and the Maesdu Golf Course forms most of its shoreline.
Of course, Llandudno has its fair share of traditional seaside pursuits such as donkey rides and fish and chip shops.
The town also has a modern retail park near the train station and Venue Cymru event centre, and wrought-iron canopies shade smaller shops along Mostyn Avenue, Broadway and Street. The latter - Mostyn Street - is effectively the high street and becomes brightly decorated during the Victorian carnival in May.

A bit run down but not bad if you want some lovely excursions...shops acceptable and some great cafes.Cable car MUST accept card payment as most people don't carry much cash with them and there were no signs informing you of this until there...very poor...but luckily we had just enough cash between us for the ride...£28...how many of you carry such cash these days?

I would definitely not advise disabled people to use it. The stairs at the front entrance are lethal plus they only had WiFi in certain parts of the hotel, usually near reception. Nothing in the rooms. There was no entertainment till the summer. The hotel itself was very comfortable but these little things spoiled our stay.

Llandudno wasn't our first choice but that's where we ended up going and on arrival immediately felt it was a good choice. The long sweeping sea front, plenty of shops, bars and cafes. It still holds on to its charm of yesteryear. The pier and tram ride up the Orme are popular. A good range of accommodation to suit most pockets. Could happily have stayed longer than our 3 nights and would happily visit again.

The town has plenty of choice for bars and restaurants, LCs Bar, Fountain Bar, The Mediterranean Restaurant, The Taverna, The Casanova, The Cottage Loaf, to name a few. The town is also clean and has a good choice of shops...The Range, River Island, Primark, Marks and Spencers all within walking distance from main street.

I love Llandudno.
I love Llandudno. The North beach is touristy, with hotels and the pier. The West beach is not touristy at all. They are close, so visitors can easily take their pick or do both.
The Great Orme is one of the best places to go with far-reaching views. We love it up there.
The town itself has lovely wide streets with plenty of free parking. It is flat and easy to walk around. There are plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants.
Breakfast buffet had everything you would want for good English/Welsh breakfast. Hotel location close to the beach with great sea views, close enough to walk to Llandudno pier and to the vast amount of shops in and around the town centre. Many eating places and Venue Cymru provides theatre entertainment. The hotel staff made us feel a part of the family extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel was warm and comfortable and our en suite was a wet room. Will return one day, for now just like to say hello to Coco.
The breakfast was very good, and the owners and their one member of staff were very helpful and accomodating. This was only their second week as owners but they were very friendly, and made us feel at home throughout our stay. The hotel is on the seafront, at the quieter end of Llandudno, perfect if you don't mind a walk to the more commercial part of town. Parking is also free on the streets here.
The hotel was a really nice place and also In the correct location opposite the llandudno sea front with an amazinf view of the pier to the left. Amazing views although my partner and I had a back room that faced the carpark, as soon as you walked out the hotel you was right in front of the seafront. Breakfast was OK too, I don't eat full breakfasts myself but my partner said it was nice.
Very comfortable and modern room with a relaxing atmosphere in the hotel, good menu choice and quality of food was exceptional. All staff were very welcoming, helpful and went that extra mile to make sure you enjoyed your stay. Location was fantastic with the pier and promenade right on your doorstep. Surrounded by plenty of choices of bars and restaurants.
The owners were really nice. The hotel is ideally situated for the centre of Llandudno. Our room was a en suite room and had TV, tea/coffee in the room. Plenty of space with a large double bed. The breakfast was incredibly good (full Welsh) and kept us going all day. Probably one of the best we've had. We would definitely come back again.
Very dog friendly. The breakfast was brilliant. Evening meal was nice. Indoor swimming pool was nice and warm. Right opposite the beach. Parking outside the hotel was free 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 a.m. great location. Staff friendly. Relaxed atmosphere. Will stay again.
Dinners were very good with a well balanced menu in superb surroundings - cleanliness of the hotel which was excellent - with sea views the bar area with wonderful views was delightful. Location on the seafront with walks along promenade and pier were superb.
We had a fabulous weekend in Llandundo, the hotel is on the street with lovely seafront promenade. The owners are fantastic, excellent service and great food. The room, family suite in our case, is wonderful, everything super clean and very comfortable.
Overall, the hotel is tired but the bed was clean and comfortable and the en suite was clean with a decent shower. Good value for money on Llandudno seafront. A small breakfast was even available, which I thought was generous for the price I paid.
having a big vehicle we always have to find hotels with parking and this has plenty . 5 mins to walk into main area of Llandudno. Bobby the host could not have been more helpful or friendly . clean room , great breakfast , would stay there again
We booked a family room & it was fantastic!! 1 double bed & 3 singles. 1 of the beds could be separated by pulling a curtain across.
The hotel is situated right on the seafront so excellent views & a perfect location for exploring Llandudno.
I really like this hotel the sea view is amazing, breakfast good restaurant team always do a great job, lift out of order , no gas for the fizzy drinks and that creaky floor but it's still good value for money so we will be back soon
The hotel is just by the beach. The best location I have ever been near sea side. The room was very big and super comfortable. The sea view from the room was just amazing. I will definitely recommend everyone.
Staff were very polite and helpful, room was basic but seafront view was the best I have had in the hotels. Llandudno has plenty to offer, the Grand Hotel is the ideally suited location to stay.
Excellent.....Best hotel I've stayed in, in llandudno very courteous staff......the staff at the "grand hotel " should take lessons from the staff here will definitely return
Very clean room
Great location on LLandudno's beautiful promenade. Having a room with a sea view and access to the hotel's car park was a bonus. Our room had all that we needed for a short stay.
Comfortable hotel in great location on the seafront at Llandudno. Staff in all areas are wonderful and help to make your time there even more pleasant. Will definitely return.
