Beautiful city with many places within walking distance.
Beautiful city with many places within walking distance. Don't miss Butchart Gardesn, Fisherman's warf and the parliament building at night. we had two dogs so meals at fishermans warf were the best and most accomodating. Our stay was too short but it gave us enough ideas for a longer return trip.
totally worth it!

Would be helpful if there was a bus on Bellville st.
Would be helpful if there was a bus on Bellville st. As it’s a long walk for a handicap person to walk up to Douglas st.
Over all felling Victoria needs to do more to make the city more handicap accessible. Many businesses have stairs that are very restricted.

Victoria is a great city to visit for a walking visit.
Victoria is a great city to visit for a walking visit. Don't bother with a car - parking is expensive or non-existent. Skip the tourist shops on Government Street (except Murchies Teas). Beacon Hill Park is nice especially in spring or summer. The walk around the waterfront presents some interesting views. The Royal British Columbia Museum is a great place to learn about the history of western Canada. Overall, a nice, comfortable place to visit with slight British flavor.

I lived in Victoria for 20 years and have stayed at the Emptess numerous times before and since. I find your attitude and facilities impersonal and commonplace. No individuality or character.
Run of the mill. Even the Union Club is more comfortable.
The Empress had a certain atmosphere you have lost it. No different than any other American hotel. I would stay at the Magnolia for convenience or Dashwood Inn. The only difference between the the Emptess and Sandmans is price.
You do have excellent staff. All your recent “ improvements seem to be money oriented and an effort to be “ politically correct “

Victoria is a beautiful city.
Victoria is a beautiful city. We were able to experience most of it on foot and bicycle. People were so kind and we felt safe the whole time. We also used city transit which is very clean and safe. Very impressed with our overall visit and I hope I can get back to see more. On a side note, we were there in April and many things were closed on Mondays. And a lot of the city doesn't open until 10 am even on regular work days. One of our favorite things was Fishermans Wharf. The food and atmosphere were fantastic!

A nice place to spend a quiet weekend away from the hustle...
A nice place to spend a quiet weekend away from the hustle and bustle of Vancouver. Downtown is easy to navigate with a lot of options to dine - restaurants, cafes and bars. Don't miss Milano coffee shop. The coffee and breakfast items are amazing. There are a couple of gluten-free and dairy-free options too. You won't need a car if you plan to explore the city but may need one to get there from Vancouver as it's a solid 30 minutes drive from Swartz Bay. All types of cuisines available in downtown - Canadian, Indian, Asian, Italian, fine dining, fast food etc. One sad thing though is that there were people sleeping in front of stores during the night. They did not look like junkies and rather just unfortunate to be in that situation. It was safe to wander about in the night but would not suggest to stretch your luck late into the night.
Excellent cosy and comfortable hotel that felt more like a home and in a very pretty area, only a few blocks walking distance to downtown
Very reasonably priced for such a handy location
Large room was warm but also able to open windows. Loved the little touches like the coffee station in the foyer of a morning.
Friendly, helpful, funny staff.
Very clean & rooms smelt lovely.
We had a dinner and breakfast at the restaurants on the premises and both were exceptionally well priced & delicious
I loved the heritage building, the views, and the thoughtful and attentive staff. The historic charm and guest friendly atmosphere made me nostalgic for a time past. I felt rested and reconnected. The optional delicious breakfast in the lovely dining room topped if off. I also loved the quiet location bordering the heart of the Rockland area of Victoria. We were an easy distance from Cook St. Village, Fernwood Village, Oak Bay and downtown Victoria.
I loved my room. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean and quiet. The proximity of the hotel to all amenities of downtown Victoria is excellent. The front desk staff were friendly, welcoming, and attentive. I enjoyed the complimentary coffee in the morning while reading my book on the deck near my room. The whole experience at the hotel was relaxing and enjoyable, and I will most definitely be back!
The Oswego Hotel was lovely to stay at! Me and my husband stayed in a studio suite for two nights and it was perfect! The location was so nice - it was only about a 10 minute walk to downtown Victoria. We found a beautiful walk just steps away from the Hotel, its called the David Foster Harbour Pathway. The bed was really comfy too! Overall, we had a great stay and would recommend :)
The location is great, we didn't have to drive once we got to the hotel and still the place was quiet. Parking in premises is great and the price was good. The room was very comfortable and had all we needed, we got the suite with a full kitchen and it was very big. The bed was very comfortable. The room had AC. Staff was friendly. Recommended if you are staying in Victoria.
Really big and cosy airbnb. Cindy was making sure from the beginning that we felt welcome and at home. The beds were really comfortable and downtown was only a few minutes by car. At the accomodation there was a folder with different suggestions what you can do in Victoria. Overall we had a great experience and it was the best place where we stayed on Vancouver Island.
The Oswego Hotel is quiet, elegant, eco-friendly, has EV chargers and gated parking. We had a room with a kitchenette, shower, deep bathtub, and lovely view of Victoria. The location was perfect for us because we could easily walk to the harbor, restaurants, and the Natural History Museum. The people at the front desk were helpful and gracious.
The location was about 20 min from downtown Victoria which we didn't really mind. The hotel staff were friendly and the hotel was in great condition, seemed clean and new. The room was a bit small but very comfortable and had what we needed (fridge, microwave, and couch). The bed was comfy and we enjoyed the pool
Abigail's Hotel far exceeded my expectations. It was exactly the Victorian style bed and breakfast that I was hoping for. In fact the room, common areas and gardens were better than in the pictures. In addition, the service was impeccable with super friendly staff. Their breakfast and snack was also good.
Exceptionally clean, stayed in a dog-friendly room on the ground floor. Great location for inner harbour and main tourist attractions in downtown Victoria. Staff extremely helpful. The hotel has a lovely old-world atmosphere ( wood panelling, original features) Good secure underground parking
Booking.com rate was $30 more than front desk rate, will call hotel first next time
Hotel was pet friendly though pet room was bit rough compared to others. Overall great location to walk to downtown. Staff very nice. Parking was good.
Our stay at the hotel was fantastic. The location was convenient, the staff was friendly and the rooms were spacious with great views. Overall, we would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Victoria.
We liked the hotels location downtown Victoria, our accommodations were a junior suite much appreciated. Staff were very pleasant and professional, we were allowed an early check-in again appreciated.
Best birthday trip I ever spent. Very friendly staff and awesome rooms with great views of the city. It is a phenomenal location as well. This will be our go to hotel whenever we visit Victoria
The security features around the hotel made me very comfortable. I was so happy to see them. It's such a great location for visiting Victoria. The staff were so lovely.
